Chemical gun (Problems)

Hello, good morning, I have a question. A few months ago I bought the chemical gun and I do not understand why they damaged it so much. It does not make sense to change the main gun for the special one. Why is the special weapon the main one instead of the explosive one? It is very annoying to be using the chemical gun and to be using the food and every time you need to use the food you have to change the special weapon to use the explosive when the special is useless.

Chem already vastly overpowers every other gun in era, and it only takes a second to change to the other mode. It doesn't seem like a major issue.
