In place of lokki hats huilding I would like to suggest we build an economic Strategy Centre.
This centre is a place for players and admins to discuss economic issues. This centre will serve mainly these purposes:
1. Market Price Estimate
Players and admins will discuss about the prices of all tradable goods that can be obtained in terms of sellables. This means that after discussion, say, they decide that a selling price of a stungun is 7500 gralats, which will mean that players can exchange it for 2,500 trochus, or 1500 sanddollars for example. A record of transactions in the trade table will be available there (up to the last 5000 transactions). This could help admins and players in discussion to set a market price for selling goods so that people do not sell above or below the market price. This boosts consumer welfare.
2. Economic policies
The centre would have a conference room for players and admins to engage in meaningful discourse on economic policies, such as taxes, quotas, basing permits etc.
3. Sale of permits
In future, if basing permits or spar permits are implemented, players can purchase these permits from the ESC.
4. Admin salary allocator
The ESC can facilitate debate over the amount of money admins are being paid. If players feel that admins are not paid highly enough, they could voice their opinions in the centre and these will be debated, reviewed and refined so that the pays of admins can be changed. It also allows players to know how much their admins are being paid, improving transparency.
5. Price accountability
When a new shop or product is launched, and players are not satisfied with the price, they could ask for the admins in charge to justify the pricing and these explanations could be done at the ESC.
6. Baseconomic research
The ESC can have a research facility for researchers to post their findings on Baseconomics. This will allows interested players to learn more, especially the basers. It could also help admins with coming up with new policies, such as taxes etc.
