    Post Gang Coin System

    We have released a new gang coin system to reward players for participating in gang basing activities. We're trying out some new things with this system so there may be some changes in the coming weeks.

    The system has a daily cap on how many gang coins you can earn, and that cap is reset each morning at 6 AM US Central time. Currently, you can earn up to 450 gang coins per day. You can earn 300 of those coins by getting kills in a gang base. If your gang controls the base you get 2 gang coins per kill, otherwise you get 1. You will also earn 20 gang coins for your first base capture of the day. Finally, you can earn up to 130 gang coins per day by controlling a gang base, at the rate of 2 coins per minute.

    You currently have to be in the flag room during a base capture to earn your 20 coins for your daily base capture, or to earn your 2 coins per minute from controlling a base. This will likely be something we change to take into account people dying right before a base is captured, or people defending a base in other rooms. We currently plan to do 3 basing seasons per year, with the hats, melees, and guns being changed seasonally. Gang coins will not be reset at the end of the season, so you can stock up for future items after earning the ones you want from this season.

    Those who own the base are earning 3 more coins. And for those who go to the bases alone like me, they only earn 1 per death. And why not increase a coin by death to those who go alone to base. 2 by death

    We’re trying to promote at least a little bit more competiton for bases, so we don’t have say one gang holding nearly all bases as we’ve seen recently. Holding/capturing a base should have its rewards and should incentivize players to team up and work to take it.

    Would be nice if there were a few more ways to get the coins:

    1) Whoever is first in fort recieves a small amount, possibly 30?
    2) Staff hosted base raids, basically a staff once per week, would brodcast a certain base, and time, basically whatever gang owned the base announced at the time sent out by the staff would get 50 or so gang coins.
    3) To also encourage forting, possibly during forts you earn .1 of a coin per coin on top of all the regular coins you'd receive.

    After the first day or so, I feel like this base system doesn't incentivize healthy basing as much as it could. Prior to the GC system, the basing climate has gotten rather stale with alliances, shifts, and a lack of players. After the implementation of GCs, the lack of players situation has definitely fixed itself, but bases have primarily turned into 24/7 forts with the main strategy being door spamming on defense. Take a look at the coin payout on both sides:

    Defense: 130 coins for 65 minutes of defense, 2 coins per kill
    Attack: 20 coins flat for first capture, 1 coin per kill
    *Note: Kill coins capped at 300 overall

    Bases are inherently defender favored, thus you are paying out better rates to the easier task. Along with that, a lot of gangs have gone into taking shifts on bases making the 20 coins for capture free for those on the "schedule." All of this just encourages the current basing climate to continue as-is without really promoting proper gang interactions.

    Some ideas:
    --Extend the first capture rule to 10 coins for each the first capture on every unique base. This would encourage gangs to not only attack other bases, but also rotate between them.
    --Flip the kill payouts to 2 on attack, 1 on defense. Attacking is the harder task as defenders have the ability to rotate members and heal without losing progress like attackers do. Also, defenders already get a passive bonus for defending the base.
    --Split the kill payout limit for attacking and defending. For example, 200 coin limit on kills as attacker, 100 coin limit on kills as defender. This would discourage turtling up and walling the door of a base as they would actually have to rotate for more coins.

    The ideas above generally promote attacking multiple bases. If you want to be in the running for gang hour rewards the whole gang would have to be skilled at basing in multiple areas. Otherwise, you would be a working mercenary just basing for coins.

    This is a great update, it's insane to see such big projects coming out one after the other. The summer shop might have been lackluster, but this is a huge update.

    Would be nice if you could make up to 50 gang coins a day via gang spar (could get 10 coins for every gang spar round you win).
