We have roughly 730 hours in a month, AFK for 2.5 months and you're at 2k hours. You're welcome.

Every staff position is a 'volunteer' position
Do or do not; there is no try

Personally I think the 1k hour requirement is there to serve as a filter, not to see how good a person might be for a position. There's a lot of players who want to be admin and someone with 1k hours should have a pretty good basic understanding on the game. Thus having it filters out a lot of applicant's that would be applying purely for the sake of their own self interests as well as applicant's that don't know the ins and outs of the game

With any Voluntary job in general it's per a person's self interest in devoting their personal time into bettering something they enjoy (say that be the case). Not to disagree with anything you've said above in the slightest but like ive said previously, there are experienced individuals seniors co-staff etc there to assist in training you on the in and outs of the game etc on top of what you may or may not already know. The presumption that a player with the set amount of hours should know x amount of information was what i was mainly poking at because again it can highly not be the case.

But yes to filter out a bulk of applicants I get that, It's essentially a double sided blade while filtering out unwanted applicants there's still the possibility of missing out on solid guy's due to the minimal requirement but things seem well as far as that department goes so it's no biggie if the jobs getting done efficiently.
