They are most likely trying to keep things new and fresh with new ideas and concepts.

They do this every year. It used to be called the exotic coin, last year it was changed to keycard and this year to mysterious tablet. This annual change generates hype and makes the tablet more expensive and desirable. People are excited to see new designs and concepts. Exotic coins were sold for a few hundreds of thousands of trochus while keycard and mysterious tablets are valued at 1-1.5 million trochus, also probably due to improvement of items available for you to purchase with it over the years, making it even more desirable than before. This hype sells gifts and makes it more exciting to open them.

If anything I hope it’s to add more items while keeping the old ones. So next year possibly you can have chances of getting a keycard and a tablet

It's to differentiate the name; so that it's not possible to scam someone by selling them a keycard from last year and claiming it's from this year's presents, as they have differing values.
Also, it's neat to switch it up on a yearly basis.
