Use paint.
It's simpler than photoshop and is very easy to use.
Also, paint shouldn't give you a virus.
How do you index it using paint? oh wait, you cant. lol

Well, at least it doesn't give a virus.
Gimp doesn't give a virus either. He most likely clicked a link while downloading it, downloaded it from the wrong place, or something else.
