Anyways, you get rocks so how can you say it's a terrible side-quest.

This is just a side-quest, it doesn't need to be perfect. They still work for it- all those scripts/ganis/gfx/level/sfx -were all made by the team.
If it's a huge one, then there's something that need lots of effort in it.

Well just like other side quests for holidays. For limited time items. They said it's basically like the king crab where you could get the crab melees. It's also like killing giant NPCs like the Cupid, leprechaun, and ther was something else. That all have a 5-10% chance of getting. It might seem frustrating, but the work pays off once you get a melee/item that not everyone has the patience to get.

The hats are awesome that's what I wanted, achievement(which I never got!), spider web shooter(halloween spiderweb?) an ok looking sword and a reskin dagger...
