A sandbox is an online environment in which code or content changes can be tested without affecting the original system. It's to test updates before it's released on the real iPhone server.

Except there already is a debug/dev version of iEra. Or I at least remember reading something about one. My guess is that this is a server meant for training staff-to-be. Or at least for practice.
