Shelling - Problems?

Uh, I need money... So I recently got into shelling. But I get super bored after like 5 minutes. Is shelling really worth it anymore?

I bared through shoveling for about 45 mins, and only got about 1-1.5k gralats. My friend said he got 10k in an hour... Other people say you can make like 5k from 10 shovels. Idk, I find it to be a whole lotta bullcrap. I already wasted 20-30 shovels, and have made maybe 2k gralats in total.

Did I do something wrong, or is shoveling just broken, or what...
I kill every crab, and pretty much shovel till I get a huge pile. Still confused why I get crap.

Don't leave your shells there for too long or they will disappear.

my top 3 suggests:
1. when you dig you need to chat with anyone or talk by skyre or some thing like that to make it more interesting. also you can listen to music.
2. you need to find good place to dig cause some places have less shells then others. for example i like dig near skate board park that placed near beach in top left of map.
3. patience... and dont believe all your friends. every one tries to say that he gets more then others. but ignore then while doing second suggest.

@Sasha Everyone shells there xD I've been shelling at the bus, maybe I should switch.
It's just kinda boring to dig. And I feel like PMing or something takes some time away from shelling.
Maybe I'll pull up a youtube video or something, and give shelling a go for a bit tomorrow.

Is there a good/certain amount of time you could spend digging a day, to get maybe 10k gralats a day?

Im not a huge digger, but when i dug for tazer about a year and a half ago when it was actually worth a decent amount, i passed the time by watching south park. Watching a show you really dont have to pay much attention too seems to pass the time.

I have a rough estimate of how much money you should expect from X amount of shovels, being a long time digger myself.

10 shovels = roughly 1k worth of gralats in shells + crab shells.

My advice: Dig somewhere near grass. You can dug and mushroom pick and get trash which will make your money goal come up quicker.

i think that good amount of shells per hour is 500+. so you get it from 10-12 shovells, so in total you get 1700-600+100(crab shells). so it will be hard to get gralats much but it depends on place where you dig and amount of crabs that you kill. if you dont like place near skate park then try top island beach in the bottom right of it. there you can dig near walls, i used to dig near stairs that placed near chair shop.
