Player Doll Disclaimer: Improvement towards Forums, not the Game

So ever since the very beginning of this forum, before it is what it is today, I have always seen the same questions over and over again in the "Ask a Weapons Expert" section of the forum. Or, to be more specific, the same types of questions.

"I have x amount of gralats to spend..."
"What is better BAR or Ghost M4..."
"I like to PK> Any gun suggestions..."
    "What Gun is Better..."

We've all seen these recurring questions over and over again. Frankly, I think that posting the same thing over and over again is redundant and boring.

Before I introduce my suggestion, I would like to say that I have absolutely no idea about coding or website maintaining, and if what I am asking for is unreasonable, so be it.

I think what the forums could use is a match up system.
It would be a closed thread, but everyone can see it.
It would have a search system for every gun in era, and if you type in "Bar", it would show the most popular threads regarding a feasible Bar match up.
Any other match ups can be requested by (someone).
The thread itself will be closed, but it would be like a straw poll system in which can vote what is better, and give reasons to it.

I don't have it all in my head, so if you have anything to add, please do.
I could see a flaw in which people would always ask for other matchups... Hmm.

I'm still going to have this prediction even if your idea was implemented into the forums, people would still create similar threads and then having to either close/merge them with another thread.

Yeah, I suppose that is a very probable course of action, especially with new members.
Eh, it was an ok idea while it lasted.

It isn't a bad idea so don't let that fact put it down too much. Some users don't search some times and that is what the moderator team is for. Depending on the context we will merge threads if we see reoccurring topics.

The best solution in this case is for members to use the forum search function before creating a new thread, a lot of common gun comparison questions being asked have already been answered there. If there are no matches for their search then they are free to make a new thread.

Ventus, I agree. I should've acknowledged the moderator team.

Ren, in that case the next best plan of action in my opinion is moving that search feature to a more visible spot because I suspect that some people don't know that it is on the bottom corner.

Unless there's an automatic hookup engine that will send them the threads of their desire before creating one that has existed.

But then again, nah. Might be too strict on them.
