Heck yes. There's a huge advantage for people if its not era related, which is completely unfair.
There is an advantage to those who know alot about era if it's only era related questions aswell.

Im pretty sure they will know enough for questions if they know how to enter events like Trivia.
If "Google" is the problem, then use Google yourself. It's not going to kill yah.
Trivia is in the "Skill" door. If the questions were always era related, they would end up being repeated through every trivia. Questions would be the same and it would just get boring. People will then end up knowing the answers to the questions off by heart, and that wouldn't show an skill at all.

You can't stop someone from googling even when it's a basic question not graal related.
