Post Insight in Graal Era Jobs

Not a soul wants to be without even a few pennies. Especially in a game as socially demanding as Graal Era. It can be very difficult to obtain gralats in this game if you have not a means to using said “Itunes” or “RL Money”. Have no fear; it is possible To obtain respectable gralats using the games very inhumane and difficult grinding mechanics. What will be noted before we even get started however, is getting a job in real life will be the absolute, without a doubt best method to obtain gralats. It makes what small jobs you do in era look like a joke and a mere rip off. Slave labor, if you will. Alas, perhaps one reading such an article has no job. One might still wish to put in the effort to obtain an M4 or a fancy hat. If this is still an article of value to you, have no worries. Even hell runs on money.

Digging Shells. What comes to mind? Crabs, broken shovels, and people attempting to grab what is rightfully yours. If you are not in a crowded safe zone, you must worry about the countless homicidal twelve year olds who wish to feel better of themselves. Apart from these stressful factors, Digging Shells has some unique benefits a car simply cannot achieve. The biggest bonus to digging shells is that they have a great power at the tables of trading. Your upkeep as compared to a car (Gas) is much cheaper as well. Trading your shells at the trading tables will usually get you a cluster of shovels at upwards of 90% off retail pricing. It is a much more mundane task, and thus can be dealt with while participating in other leisure’s, such as watching television or between homework problems. The list goes on.
Note: Digging shells seems comparatively equal with car missions. One must note that the time between deaths, changing locations, picking up shells, and fighting crabs are left out of the equations. Hence why it is listed as second best.

Every other task that can offer gralats should be avoided at all costs. The only reasons one should ever want to do such zombie-like tasks is to receive achievements and/or the Pizza hat/membership. Mushroom and trash spawn so infrequently, it is a commodity that is best applied while doing any other tasks. Like when you’re coming back to receive another car mission or moving locations. A rather decent combo, however is a viable option for those hell-bent on spreading there “stat building” time and farming time wisely. If you have half a dose of Player kill ability, running around “pking” and picking up trash, mushrooms, seasonal drops, and body parts ( from kills) can offer you a fair balance. It is by no means a replacement for car missions or getting a job.

To conclude, Cars and shells are a fair way to play the game cheap. The cons to this are that the developers receive nothing for their hard work and you spend quite a lot of time that you could spend doing other tasks. Like learning, reading and getting sun. As a neat little comparison, I would like to address the pay scale the game uses in a much more comparable way. In America, minimum wage is 7.25 dollars. This nearly equates to 18,000 gralats an hour. On the flip side, let’s take a look at the mean car pay per hour. Doing car missions for a single

hour without anything going wrong will roughly equate to a net gain of 1,728. This is 96% less then minimum wage laws in the United States. This is just food for thought however and you may play life however you see fit. Imagine the differences with mail or Speedy Pizzas wages!

What about mining? High level mining (lot of grinding to get there) is awesome if you have the patience

I'm curious about how this experiment was carried out. There are a lot of variables to consider when it comes to each mission.

A lot of these jobs have a high dependence on the number of players online at the time, mainly those that involve running around like trash/mushrooms and car missions. Some car missions may be better than others, too. Is there an optimal route that ensures the most gralats? This may involve multiple mission npcs creating a route that cuts travel time to the next mission. Does collecting trash and mushrooms while doing mail missions work faster than just focusing on one alone? What about Pk'ing for body parts?

Also, how many trials did you carry out for each mission? One five-minute trial does not give good data in any cases. Always do at least 3 and get an average with relative average deviation (%rad). Longer trials may be more accurate as well but I'm not so sure.

For digging and drilling, there are drop rates for each sellable. How often will you dig up a trochus? a starfish? a crab? In the case of drilling, how often will you grind out an iron? copper? lead? gem? etc. For these parts, it's best to determine probability through numerous and numerous trials and then calculate expected value for one dig/drill. I'm sure with enough data you could calculate an hourly rate rather accurately. Maybe I'll launch a project in winter to get this done during break. With even more data over time, we might even be able to determine whether or not drop rates actually from time A to time B.

Some jobs also have a pay rate that scales with experience like drilling and pizza missions. Pizza missions eventually lead to the veteran tables where everything is closer together and you won't get crowded out by other players as easily. Drilling speed scales with level such that (Speed = 30.0 - (level*0.3)). Do you assume that the player is new to the game? Or are they level 10 drilling or something?

Car, mail and pizza missions also have randomized payouts such that you can receive any amount between x and y. This especially holds true for pizza missions as payouts for no topping differ from 1/2/3 topping pizzas.

On topic, The great disparity between in-game missions and paying for IAP exists because that gives further incentives to buy said IAP. If in-game missions paid out higher people would ask why should they buy IAPs if you could get the gralats for free in a reasonable amount of time through in-game work. It's a tough balance because we have to remember that every game is a business as well. If we don't buy IAPs then the game eventually crumbles. One solution to this may be to implement more experience systems such that those that do lots of work in-game can close this large gap a little.

High mining level does give Gralats, but not a lot in 5 minutes. Even if you're in Level 20+
    Computer Science major? I don't know. What's GS2?
