The question has probably been asked before, and I'm sorry but do the transparencies have to be set prior
uploading the pic to the thread? My editor sucks as much as it swallows and it removes any transparency
that was set on the image after I edit.

Adding transparency is easy - don't worry about that.

You can upload it with a white background.
