My logic:
Lots of new players hang out around start (near the van)
"Freshness of retro by me", i'm guessing this is reffering to your graphics in arte.
"The doors are locked", lots of locked doors there.
"Entrance is to grab", you have to grab the van to enter arte.

Close,
but not that close.
The new players is what I hear outside,
but I don't see none.
A room that is black,
but not dark.
I am the first thing you see,
but my name is what you seek.
Around the start is where I believe.
