Ive been playing for several years now (think I started in 2010 and have been playing off and on since then), and have always wanted a fishing job.
In my mind, the concept is simple: buy fishing rod, go to a beach or a dock, and then fish. Following along the lines of the other jobs, there's different kinds of fish to catch which have differing prices. Plus, it could (and probably should) have a sort of leveling system like drilling, the more you catch the faster you catch. Plus there could be plenty of options for rare fishing rods and so on down the line. This all is what I definitely want in a fishing job.
Now some other feature I want that I'm not sure could work out.
1.Be able to eat the fish. Here's where I'm not so sure it could be easy, not only logic-wise or code-wise. I'm not sure if it would be better to say eating raw fish and it gives you health (where the logic problems comes in) or if there should be a cooking "system" for the fish (where code wise problems come in. Idk cause im not a coder

)
2.All the features for buying/using fishing rods and such. Im not sure how the buying could work. Should there be a normal rod, and you just buy lines or lures or whatnot? Or should you constantly buy fishing rods as you do shovels for digging? Thats something for you guys if you do decide on implementing a fishing job

3. Quests. There could be an npc who requires fish for a reward, or... idk some cat who's hoarding something you need for a quest and you need to feed it or something lol. But it gives options for quests as well.
Haha it feels like I'm writing an essay for school again. Anyway, you dont have to listen to all my recommendations, but I'd be stoked if you do add fishing with SOMETHING I requested.
Another thing... it's be cool if there was an overall quest that leads you through all the new features when you release them. It gives everyone a little tour and a lay of the new land.
