I've understood that you must do it at least once as an Adult, but I have a two questions (sorry if any come across as rude).
Can you eat food? During the pilgrimage?
Can you go more than once?
Do you sleep outside during the pilgrimage?

الاستهزاء – ويطلق عليه " الاستخفاف " و " السخرية " - منه ما هو كفر أكبر يُخرج من الملة ، ومنه ما هو فسق ، ومنه ما هو محتمل للحُكمين .
1. فما كان منه استهزاء بالله تعالى أو بالقرآن أو بالرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم : فهو كفر مخرج من الملة ، وقد دلَّ على هذا قوله تعالى : (وَلَئِنْ سَأَلْتَهُمْ لَيَقُولُنَّ إِنَّمَا كُنَّا نَخُوضُ وَنَلْعَبُ قُلْ أَبِاللَّهِ وَآيَاتِهِ وَرَسُولِهِ كُنْتُمْ تَسْتَهْزِئُونَ . لَا تَعْتَذِرُوا قَدْ كَفَرْتُمْ بَعْدَ إِيمَانِكُمْ) التوبة/ 65،66 .
