The problem with status codes and gang pictures

Recently I created a status code on a shield template, after I uploaded it I was told the file was too large. In confusion, I PMed a player relations admin and he told me the rules. They've changed since the last time I uploaded a status code b/c apparently they're illegal now. Although my intentions for my huge shield code are not to cover my player, I'm still not allowed to use it. The issue with this is that the only other way to upload a status code is through a gang picture. Sure this works but I'm restricted to still images with annoying solid backgrounds b/c only JPEG files can be uploaded as gang pics. There is no file format that provides inherent support for animations and transparent backgrounds that players can use to upload status codes. So how am I supposed to upload my GIF status code now? The answer is, I don't. Unless someone out there wants to approve it for me, that would be greatly appreciated!

There needs to be another way of uploading a status code, I don't think it would be too difficult to recreate something that functions similarly to shield codes but for statuses only.

Please comment an F in the thread if you are also frustrated.

you can actually upload .gifs and .pngs as gang images, all you have to do is save your image as either a .png or .gif, then in your file browser manually change the file extenstion to .jpeg. itll upload as a .jpeg but it'll still have the properties of the .png or .gif image

F. Welcome to the club of getting hit with the new rules. Staff should have never changed the rules, cuz now there's zero originality with custom uploads.

TBH, Admins probably made the new rules to make the part of their jobs regarding upload reviewing less work, and so there's no uncertainty of whether or not an upload should be in the game.

Sure this might work (I haven't tried it out) but you are still limited to one gang pic, making multiple noob accounts to create gangs just doesn't seem practical.

going to have to disagree with that, on the contrary putting more rules makes the job harder meaning we have to look out for those criteria as well, though allowing a broader array of heads is way easier just press "approve" though the rules are there to make sure that the game doesn't turn into a copyrighted anime series not do we want it to turn into zone or ok west, including the brands and unreal customs.

Thanks for the clarification. Guess I don't want era to be shut down from that one kid who wants to be spongebob in game.
