The thing with hunger games is there aren't any animals as enemies or even in the movie/book, so the map should be a medium size. I have only read the first and second book so I don't know about animals, but get back to me on those questions!
The map isn't too big, and isn't too small – it only becomes small if there are around 25 players left or less (depending on the staff hosting it).

First of all, hunted in a game doesn't need all those because it may cause lag to others.
With many mobs around, I'm sure everyone will hate how laggy it is.
There are reasons why it's called 'Hungrr Games' btw.
    No teams, last to survive.

What I really like about Hunted is that players run out of food quickly and end up dying.

Hunted is fine, no need for more events like it

What I'm pointing out is similar to Hunted event.
You don't need a few more changes just to make it oh 'nicer' in the end it may have technical problems while hosting with many bugs and scripts.
Anyone can team in Hunted, there isn't a rule saying you can't.
Anyways last few players will have to either backstab one another or John just warps them to somewhere and spawn a heck of zombies to lag the place.

This can be somewhat of a problem, a scripter would have somewhat of a trouble doing this. I'm not a scripter so don't entirely take my word for it, Graal isn't the type of game that can handle those features (possibly it will in the future), maybe if there could be a .ini file that could be implemented. Also I'm not sure what hunted is like so I have an unbiased opinion if it is synonymous with Hunted or not.
