That is probably one of the best first guns I have seen. I respect you for saying that it was far from perfect and willing to take constructive criticism as most other people just post it say it's amazing and then move onto the next one. Because of this I will help you improve on it. Firstly your size and shape is pretty decent, I would suggest flattening the stock a bit more and adding a bit more width to the barrel. I usually go with a barrel of 3 pixels wide and then work from there. Your shading it also good for your first gun, and I like the beige colour you've used. I would recommend using a darker beige shade on the outsides of the barrel to give it some contrast. The handle needs a bit of fixing since it looks wonky and I would make the magazine a pixel wider. I will do a quick edit of it now to show you what I mean.

K this is the edit I came up with in about 10 mins showing how I would have done it with a very basic idea of how I would have shaded it with the changed to the shape. Also just note I didn't really finish editing it so the shading and details aren't really added, so now you have ago. I highly recommend working on this gun and making it look amazing before you start trying to make other guns

Is this for the assault rifle with the 2 shot burst? I like it a lot and would use it instead of the default one actually.
