Making melees useful in the face of guns (ideas needed)

Okay, here's an improvement for the future- making MOST melees capable of taking on guns, SOMEHOW. I just dont know how. The main problem is that you often can't get within range for long enough to kill someone before they move away.

Ideas so far, let us collaborate here-

15-25(?)% speed boos on "light" melees. (my idea)

Straight up more damage? (My idea)

Backstab/flank-hit bonus damage (my idea)

Tweak range on melees? (My idea)

More health? (My idea)

I really don't think that this would be a good idea. Melees aren't really supposed to be capable of taking down guns, really. Guns are sort of the main way to kill someone in Era as of right now, and adding in something else that's just as strong as guns would not be a good idea. Also, it really wouldn't be nearly as fair to have a $10K melee be able to take down a $200K gun. In my opinion, melees shouldn't be the only way that you're killing people, guns are a lot more effective and boosting the melees would be crazy OP.
