Christmas Presents - Gun and Melees discussion

Please use this thread to discuss the presents - only vote in the other one please.

We need something like a Christmas themed guns and melees. Something like the golden desert eagle from last year. If you add a random gun/melee into a present, then people would be like, why am I wasting my time, instead, I can just get gralats and purchase the gun/melee. Unless, if the gun/melee had a different texture or a rare skin which can be only obtained by opening presents.

There is a golden gun that is going to be added which is better than the Golden Desert Eagles. We've already designed this which is why I've said not to vote for it. :)

Is the golden gun an entire new gun or is it a reskinned gun.
Is it going to have the same rarity as G Deagles last year?
Are there any more guns, specifically auction guns in presents?

It's a reskinned gun :)

We've made it a little rarer but there are more presents added this year. I believe it was 5% chance of obtaining last year, it's now 2-3%.

The guns you choose in this thread will be the only guns in the presents (as far as I remember - I can't confirm but I'm pretty sure we've not made any new guns for the presents)

As snk said the item is going to be an ice/ christmas skinned version of what you vote. So that trade prices of the item won't effect.
It is basically going to be a separate item.

So vote on the item based on it's visual appearance/ functions rather than its trade price.

Then maybe I should suggest a Ice Butterfly Knife or a Winter one?

No it isn't allowed.
Idk why everyones voting for the butterflyknife when stat wise its basically the same as a hunter knife.
Just realise it isnt going to be some kind of expensive tradetable rare as the current one is (and no the skins wouldn't work on the christmas version).

I'd have thought people would be wanting a christmas themed rageblade since that has the healing staff ability and would actually be useful

In fact, can you just make the melee non tradable?

But butterfly knives are cooler, and why not make it heal. i honestly could care less if the butterfly knife couldnt get any skins. Also, whatever gun is selected, give it a cool Christmas themed skin.

Because the present guns don't give any benefits so neither is the melees. The christmas theme for it is purely to differentiate the item from its tradeable counterpart.
As guns cannot be traded at all, it's not as big of a deal what gun is chosen

I feel like having the item non tradable makes it even more rare, but it cannot be taken advantage of by the person who owns it. I like this.

How many melees would be given out? is it like 20 or would there be more or less

For guns there wouldn't be but i'd imagine there would be on the melee or else you'll see everybody with it like what happened with the gold desert eagles where the entirity of complex was nothung but gold handguns

I do hope the butterfly knife doesnt become tradeable. It would ruin the whole point of it being rare from presents, if it is chosen of course.

Well on a slight tangent, I am glad that snk finally decided to give some voting power/ suggestions to individuals who use forums at least to a certain extent.

While the forums themselves aren't quite representative of everyone who plays era, it's nice that snk is acknowledging the people who contribute on forums.

Anyways, I really don't think the weapon should be tradable.
There being a limited amount of those items can be debatable.

Winter Staff,

why would you pick butterfly knife? knowing its not going to be tradeable, also keep in mind that it has the exact same stats as the hunter knife / kiwi knife. The Winter Staff firstly heals you; making it a lot more useful because i'm sure a lot of people have a high damage knife already but most dont have a healing item, therefor making it useful. Also the fact that its Xmas related less it in theme and is in with a good shout, oh well the idiotic voice of the uninformed users speak louder than the words of a knowledgeable user.

I don't really think items should be limited to a certain number in the presents.

The problem i see with this is that there's a good chance that the presents would hit the limit within hours of presents being able to be opened- disadvantaging those from non-european timezones. I understand why people want a limit but if we want it to be fair to everybody there shouldn't be a limit in my opinion.
