I wouldn't say it's unfair, in real life you pay 2$ for a lottery ticket, and one of you may get a million dollars, whereas someone else collected his money through hard work.
Think of it the same way as a lottery.

Hello, people user iTunes to pack so much in a game.
Ec is different-earning by hard sweat and hand.
Not like traders-pack all day making themselves stupid.
But why are two of each saber in the mix? A saber is just like any other item, except it has different colors. Only one of each kind of saber should be in there.
Also, what happened to adding new items from auctions and stuff? Right now, you're still taking from event players only, rather than taking a little bit from everyone by giving only a little bit of Ec items and a little bit of auction items?
Plus, its repeating items
It is completely possible. I don't know a lot about gs2 or any coding really, but I'm sure a simple if statement could do the trick if he's using an RNG. He could replace the lightsaber with a simple value then add an if statement that leads to another RNG that chooses the saber color
Yeah can be done
So if I understand correctly, the people who won the sabers, get to keep them? That's just downright wrong. Event items are no longer event items.
Thnks alot.
It's sickening to see how this is turning out. All the people who actually earned their items have to put that they didn't rely on a stupid raffle to get their items to avoid the spam of "lucky u won raffle noob"
Your comparison is very inaccurate. In a real life lottery, you have to pay to enter, so if you don't win, you have something to lose. In this drawing, all you have to do is log on for 5 minutes, slap lethal a few times, and you're entered. In a real life lottery, someone doesn't win every time. There are drawings where there is no winner at all. In this drawing, it is guarenteed that one person will win every two hours. In a real life lottery, the money comes from someone else's expense. Part of the losers' expenses are put in to create the prize. In this drawing, all of the items are generated by the server.
A more accurate comparison would be a package of a billion dollars falling from the sky targeting a random residential area, and a person happens to catch it. Sure, there's no control over who catches it, it could be a multimillionaire or a homeless person. The money was generated out of nothing, much similar to the event items now. There is no cost to whoever catches it or doesn't, whoever is walking outside at the time has a chance. The package also lands in a residential area, so someone will receive its contents. Well, sure someone just got very rich out of pure luck, but it has effects on everyone else as well. Now everyone else with some money will suffer the massive inflation due to the additional billion dollars tossed into the economy. Everyone who has worked for anything just lost hours of work, and all the money just decreased in value. The current event items are now decreasing in value, as people are winning them without work nor cost. One person benefits, while everyone else involved in the economy suffers. Even if a person decides to live on subsistence and refuses to participate in the economy, it is still ignorant to say nothing bad is happening. If you aren't participating in events and don't even own an item, approaching this situation with the same ignorance does not justify its effects. With all the chaos from these falling packages of money, imagine if it happens 12 times a day for 2 (or more) days. The packages may not always have a billion dollars in them, maybe a million, or a thousand. Either way, the value of money will still decline. Yes, the value of all the event items are declining just because of this drawing, and it doesn't help that the more expensive ones are being thrown out more often than the less expensive ones.
There's a lot of player (started players ) who got the most incredible event times with only waiting for 2 hours I thing that's no fair
Well some guy won saber in 2 h , and some who really tried to get it whole the year hope sabers replaced with other items
And thx
We know. No need to make another thread.
Stop whining, say what you gotta say in the other thread. You can complain all you like but it has already happened.
Ok Greg, if no favoritism "must be shown," then revoke the event items that are being given out. And to be fair to events players like myself and auction people, make completely new items for this raffle
And bobo, that was beautiful.
Exactly. It's really annoying. I kept receiving messages like "so you won that in raffle?!" And "wow nice job in the raffle."
So I had to put in my status, that I actually earned my saber by winning ec in events.
Event items are barely event items anymore, unless admins do something about it.
Merging with other thread of same topic.
What I think should have happened is that a mixture of auction and event items should have been used, event players say that no event items should be given out but only auction and auction players say the opposite. If admins had brought this idea up before it happened, a lot of issues could have been avoided.
Yep. But they made a hugeee mistake, that hopefully they regret. Thankfully, it's fixable, so let's see how much admins really care about players and the era community.
Fixable how?
I know that snk has heard your feedback, said he learned from this experience, and will update you on changes.
This event was just for this weekend - I think he said he planned to do some "free" or raffle event one weekend per month but I am not sure of the specific details for each one.
Ok thank you, I like the idea of these things but I hope it gets better planned next time.
Replace with what? It may be unfair to give those items away but it is worse to then take them away again.
It's not worse to take them back. Admins made a huge mistake, that they need to be fixed. And of course, the people who did win the raffle, will be given a different item, hopefully not event/auction item, but something madefor for the sole purpose of the raffle.
Surprisingly, replacing the raffled lightsabers is not as unfair as it sounds. Staff reserves the right to change whatever they want whenever they want (something along those lines), and we see this right exercised whenever a gun gets its stats changed for better or worse. Furthermore, the "fairness" can be made up by replacing the lightsaber with a new item that has the exact same stats/features as a lightsaber. By giving raffle winners a weapon that is a reskin of saber, the winners will have their earned prize but also the legitimacy of earning a saber will be preserved.
Thank you general. And snk, this does not in any way promote "gang basing."
Hopefully you've learned from your mistakes, but it still
Needs to be fixed.
Yeah seriously, all I was saying was becuase he doesn't have many ec items, he probably doesn't know what it's like to see someone get a free saber unlike everyone else who earned it.
