    Looks like a Kris Dagger; a fairly old weapon known amongst various Asian cultures that hasn't much lost its popularity.

    I agree with making the blade bigger, but maybe place the jewel on the hilt(handle) or pommel(bottom of the handle), if possible? The tip also looked better pointy ;o

    Edit: Oh, and I don't think they're accepting melees for this contest. I could be wrong, but you may want to post in your graphics thread just in case.
