    More shotguns and/or explosive weapons?

So I counted 9 actual shotguns in era and 5 shotgun-wannabes (ap0,shipka,lexel riffle,acr,m4 attachement).I also found out that we have 5 explosive weapons in game that are currently available(stinger, candy bazooka, assault riffle with missile launcher attached to it,artillery cannon, gas launcher).Do you guys think we need more shotguns and/or explosive weapons?Tell me what do you think about this!

Shotguns are strong, we don't need anymore.

iEra needs to reassess the way it releases guns; at least take a step back from the conveyor belt for a good six months.
Not just for shotguns, but for guns in general.

Guns are being released so out-of-control nowadays, gun releases are losing their authenticity.
Where we used to release one gun at a time, I'm seeing entire shops released at a time, with around six guns upon each release.

When you're releasing guns at this rate, you get one of two results:
    • You have a bunch of "new guns" that are nearly exact replicas of something you already have in your inventory. Nothing pisses a player off more than spending hard-earned money on a re-skin.
    • In an attempt to avoid the pitfall above, they realize that they've exhausted the possible stat combinations of the current tier acceptable as an "average gun", and in order to create something new, they create a new tier that blows the previously-average tier out of the water, and set it at a price that competes with the older guns to entice players to purchase them. This not only harbors a "Pay to win" mentality, but it takes it to a whole new level.

I think we've reached a point where the definition of the term "Gun Admin" is misinterpreted.

Real definition of Gun Admin - "I'm here to make sure the gun stats make sense. I'm here to preserve the dignity of these guns, the dignity of PKing, and therefore the dignity of gameplay on the server".

Based on the recent actions, it seems more like, "I'm here to put as many guns out there to satisfy the people's unlimited want for more guns"

On the surface, it's admirable- They're trying to satisfy players' unlimited want for new guns. But the further you dig, it becomes more and more of a crime against the game itself, and it becomes evident that the original mission statement has been thrown out the window.

It's impossible to satisfy an unlimited want, but it is possible to create unsatisfied players by turning their unlimited want into an excuse to ruin gameplay by turning it into Pay2Win, demoralizing the art of PKing in the process. Instead, the focus should be on keeping the game skill-based. You'll satisfy players by staying true to the game they already enjoy.

Ruining gameplay does not keep players; giving them the raw art of PKing that they came here for, and letting them continually practice it to perfection does.

Learning and practicing a skill will retain players much more than if you make it easy for them to win. I guarantee it.

Meph and his perfect statements, I actually loved when only one gun was released for awhile, cuz you get excited and saved up for the next upcoming gun hoping it was good. Nowadays you cant do that cuz they release 6 guns equaling about 300k+. I had every gun in graal for a long time until they started releasing 20+ guns in like 3 months. Also you current ga's went from pricing things fair to absolutely ridiculous prices to serve your godamn p2w status. I cant wait till countryside comes out so I don't have to deal with all this stupid bs guns that price at like 100K when they should be like 25K. Learn some damn economics or some shiz. The only thing I do nowadays is mine or make money for hats cuz yall ruined the true meaning of graal. Yes freaking hats because that's the only damn thing priced right.
Live your life, enjoy it while it lasts. Don't give it up when you are down, you are a light like the stars in a sky.

Although I'm sick of snipers already, we don't need any more shotguns or explosive launchers. What we need are creative and unique weapons.

I agree- whenever I've ever released a gun, I made sure it brought something new to the table, without compromising the integrity of the other guns sharing the same tier or price range.

Oh, and I hope nobody got the impression that I was putting down either of the current Gun Admins and in my previous post.
Both of them are pals of mine, and fellow staff members.

I highlighted fallacies I see in the way guns are being released, and emphasized that, if these aren't addressed, the server will go down the tubes.

iEra is in a similar position as PC Era was in 2007-- when admins were just starting the "next best gun" fetish.
After some time, it blew up like wild fire. They kept trying to make faster guns, and the end product can be seen on PC Era today.

They've got guns with 0.05 freeze, dealing good damage, and a high fire rate.
Then they've got Flak Cannons, which are pretty much shotguns that shoot faster-traveling bullets over walls.
The gameplay isn't half as competitive as it used to be because players have an easier time mastering PKing.

I'm trying to prevent this from happening to iEra.

First time checking out the forums and it's very interesting what people have to say about the game.
