    Hex,

I can not emphasize it enough that this is a proven fact in any open chat online video game, according to the ESRB (Which rates the video games) 'Gameplay is subject to change during Online play'.

You're right, any swearing IS illegal, but that's also a hypocritical statement of you support that AND support the cursing filter. Why bother jailing people for evading cursing, when there is a curse filter; it's the Staff's fault for not blacklisting those words into the filter.

I know this is a game with restrictions and rules against swearing, that's why we want it updated with a toggle system. Many players do use different words, but the majority still will always no matter what you say Evade the chat filter. That is a guarenteed statement that as long as there is a chat system players will ALWAYS find a way around it. You may think I have a problem with cursing; it's just that I am so used to it in the real world that it's hard to constantly switch to the game to real life, I just think it's necessary to describe actions regardless if illegal.

I will always stand by cursing deemed illegal if used to insult another player, if used to inanimate or non insult related matter I don't understand why it isn't allowed when they won't bother a kid friendly option.

I don't understand that statement, I have been pretty respectful from my standpoint related to your arguments; that tells me that you feel that you are losing the debate and you wish to change the subject to a personal matter. Let's not go there as it relates nothing to the topic.

The filter helps prevent swearing but of course there are ways around it, they should also be punished regardless if it gets out of hand and the cursing is used as an insult.

It's true as you say, many people will continue to avoid the filter. Instead of caving to their demands wouldn't it be better to simply continue punish them for breaking the what they know to be the rules?

I'll admit though, I personally don't believe cursing in general, not directed at somebody, is wrong. With this being said, this is a game for children and these are the rules. Nobody is forcing you to play this game just like nobody is forcing you to agree the rules, but regardless you should follow them.

I don't see a 'kid friendly option' likely at all as aforementioned, this is a game for children, this game how it currently stands is infact the 'kid friendly option' what you're suggesting sounds to me more like an option for older audiences. By all means though, continue to rally for a toggle to be implemented, it's your right to do so. I just don't see it likely in the slightest judging from responses by ace and anero.

fyi: the statement at the end is a joke referencing how you often post long threads with slabs of information; rants. It's not an insult

My argument is cursing is over protective. Kids shouldn't be allowed to curse, but that's freedom of speech. If you consider it immature to curse than you be mature and ignore it.

I think we should have the freedom of speech as we wouldn't have so many kids in the game; or atleast a more older audience.

If people are not going to stop evading cursing, then just be resilient and add some option giving us access. If you don't like it then turn it off. Not that hard.

Yes this is meant for children, but you see all these complaints on false reports and how kids are annoying, 'Astro Bar', etc. that it's a pretty hypocritical use of evidence if you hate kids then support them.

Why are the ones who are allowed to curse being punished because of little kids, do you want a small age demographic? Gags, Warns, Chat Filters? Just give us a filter, I don't think being jailed over cursing is reasonable, unless deemed towards another person.

If a parent doesn't support cursing, than have the option turned on. If you want cursing, than have the option turned off.

The entire point of this thread was to clearly point out the problems regarding admin jails for personal reasons and spite, not cursing. I think the topic got thrown out of hand, I simply was stating there must be a punishment and should be for staff that seek to up their own reputation and push their own agenda with the powers theyve been given to better the community. It is extremely disrespectful to me and to the rest of the community to have someone take advantage of the system when so many other people would crave to be in their shoes, and not to mention would do a better job at the task.

PS rather than only hire individuals that are qualified why dont you add their attitude and maturity as another factor, because there are many people who are qualified but their personalities are downright wrong for the job.

Mature people know that cursing is useless, their ways of expressing is with comprehension and not replacing most verbs or expressions with a curse word.
As for the main topic, I agree that some staff are taking graal to the slightest as if it's their job to have fun, although some staff are considered unprofessional for trying to be "close" to the players in order to help the player stay in his comfort zone while communicating with a PR because most newbies tend to panic while talking to staff members as if their problems tend to be intimidating.
Minimizing other's mistakes is a way of saying "it's okay the world isn't going to end there is a fix for everything" which relaxes the mind of the player, though I don't deny that doing nothing about it is wrong.
By being "ourselves" it shows that the team HAS a personality and honestly, no one likes fake personalities.

Freedom of speech IS in fact important though it is not recommended if it causes mayhem.

Define qualified, some consider it as experience, others claim it's how they should handle situations, how can you know if someone is qualified?

Ok here's what i'm going to say. First of all, PRs do what they are supposed to do. Which is support the players. Now I know that there could be that moment where some admin "abuses" their powers. Ok if they abused their powers, then tell ser or anero or whoever. They can deal with that problem. I've been playing iera since 2010. And Graal since 2007. I have not once complained about bad admins because i'm not an admin so I have no business getting involved with what they do. The high staff will deal with the "bad admins" and if the players want to get involved, tell a high staff. There's really no reason to complain about admins because they were chosen to be an admin based on their reputation in-game. So if they were chosen, and people don't agree with that, yet they still don't get fired. That means that they could actually be a good PR and some people just don't agree with that. I don't know how it actually works with firing a staff member, but really if they were abusing powers, they probably would have been fired by then. If they abuse powers all the time as you say, take a screenshot or get evidence and let the admins deal with it.

Alright, I'll admit that there are a lot of fame-hungry people, and those fame-hungry people have somehow gotten into a staff position. Disregard the development teams, but I'm looking at you guys, PRs'. And just to share my opinion: Drizzle was a great Player Relations staff but he's sending too many applications, and accepting too many without further inspection.

Cussing, should not a reason you should get jailed for, unless if it's directed at a player. For example, "My bathroom is a f****** mess!" should not be a reason. If it's used as an adjective to describe another player, that's a wrong-doing.
Keep in mind that the game is recommended for children over the age of 12.
