Note: do AA on the white table to make a more realistic look.

Let us talk about that gas mask for a moment. There seems to be banding, and the shading is a squared feeling to it. Masks are round, not squared. The shading you made is as if you are shading a box. Not only is there banding but there are jaggy lines. The bottom curves of the mask especially. As for colouring, don't go full grey. Add in some blue or purple. The eyes.. Are you trying to make them round? Because if you were, you failed.
Johnny said to watch YouTube videos. I wouldn't do that personally.
I prefer reading threads in regard of shading and colouring.
Not only that, but I like to be inspired by arts from pixeljoint. You should check it out sometime.

Yes I had some trouble shading the mask, it has kind of a weird shape because of the photo I used to base it off of so I tried to make something too complicated for myself lol mostly because hats are a lot smaller!
Also I see what you mean by full gray, I'll try to go more onto other shades, I'm just not too great at it lol.

About the eyes, I felt it was so small I wasn't sure on how to make it rounded, mostly because there is supposed to be a metal ring about them.

I tried watching some videos on shading, but I kind of agree with what you're saying

I will check pixel joint! It's the second time I hear about it
