A baseless assumption. Have you seen the posts made by staff here?

The images I have posted are of several different examples of problems I have encountered with several different staff members.
Well for one thing I can apologize for the use of the word "dyke," I personally did not realize it was a term that offended people. I used it as a way to express my pride, it has since been removed in any case.

According to your logic, I suppose we could say the same for players then. "People who trashtalk staff think they know what we do and the stresses the staff team deals with, thus they should be banned"

Yes I've been reading the comments and yes some staff should be fired but I'm not saying names...and staff already jail people for saying there opinions about staff or pointless stuff...

There are other ways to identify ones self, as I have family that are gay and lesbian I find the word to be derogatory because of the fact it is still used in a derogatory fashion. The fact that the word is actually censored on the game itself is another reason why the term is one that is deemed inappropriate to use, and should not be used as there are PLENTY of ways to exudes one's pride without using a derogatory one.

You're the one who finds it disrespectful it's 2017 it's completely normal to hear such words as for the ones who think it's deragotary their problem is with the whole LGBTQ community, you need to accept hearing or seeing those types of words because it's now part of this generation and acceptance is the key to peace and agreement, as for the censorship I believe that the censorship was put because of the fact that there are players who don't accept seeing that word, which by now the team should reconsider censored terms.
Now I don't know the purpose of her status if she means it to be offensive or not but you can't take conclusions without knowing the truth
Now for the other part of the staff behaving improperly, I can agree with you that these types of things happen and unfortunately some get away with it, firstly you need to think "is that staff always like this?" If yes then there's your problem you can directly message a high staff instead of waiting a couple of weeks via any social media, discord Kik on in game ...
Though if youre surprised by a staff's attitude because he used to be so nice , you might think to yourself "what happened to him?" Well as you may know staff feel emotions and angry, frustrated, depressed... Are some of them and sometimes they might do actions unconsciously thinking it's normal while it's offending to the players(we're speaking of behavior here) in that case since the staff hired cannot be analyzed and let's the whole team know on his psychological level if he's tolerant or if he can introspect in these kind of situations, they have to deal with that problem. Now of course normal players won't even think about "he might be having a bad day" and they increase the anger, this is why when/if a staff feels like he is getting angry or is about to talk to a person in a bad way it is recommended for them to just take their hands off the keyboard take a deep breath and reread the message, it'll give him time and calm to think twice.

As for the staff not doing their job they should consider if he's afk or not usually if he's afk he should go off tag but sometimes clumsy them forget to do so, but if it's proven thar the staff is a slacker or doing his job badly by being unable to deal with simple situations then I'm sorry so say that he/she shouldn't be in the staff team.

    Hi.
The message I posted that's pictured in the first post of this thread was sarcastic.
It was a reply to a comment that Ace made.
I would never be rude to players or endorse it.
And I'm not staff anymore, so my opinion isn't counted as a staff opinion.

All staff (in my view) should remember that their remarks on the forums represent the entire team as a whole and their attitudes do in a real way reflect the way they feel about being staff. If you have a combative and aggressive approach it gives you the appearance of holding a haughty demeanor and being somehow superior to the player-base, which is not what good customer service is about.

Confrontation, particularly when it's made towards players in an aggressive way, is not a customer support tool and that applies in-game, over the forums and over the support tickets.

Legal threats should go through the support center.

OP's problem was not with the word itself, but how it would be perceived as a derogatory term if anyone but a staff member used it in such context

If you have a problem then do what Ace said and email Ser or SNK or Ace. No need to express your hate on another person due to low level proof. (Not getting consent from the other person)
I sometimes don't really much comprehend what you're trying to prove here...

That is debatable seeing how you used the term in such context brings out prejudicial thoughts be it whether you're from the LGBT group or not.
But this thread only serves one purpose and that is to stop the abusing and allowing a bit of freedom for gameplay.

There's a few issues i feel i should touch on here.

    1. Professionalism of staff on their player accounts.

This is always been an on-going battle and quite a lot of staff see a disconnect where they can behave as a player on their staff account and everything that entails; ie- not being paragons of virtue like they are on their staff account. In my opinion when someone is made a member of the games staff team they are representative of the games staff team and community at ALL times, not just when they are on their staff account.
This goes for all activities they engange in while on a player account. I have and continue to be disappointed in behaviour that i see and have seen from certain staff members on their player accounts.

And this links in to my second point.

    2. Appropriate communication and behaviour in the context of the game.

I realise that iEra is a very diverse and colourful community very much reflecting the real world as it is today and that's most definitely something to be celebrated however to be using strong language like dyke or any other words or phrases that people in the game want to take back or reclaim them or use as a symbol of their pride or pride in their own community is still not appropriate for anyone to be using in a game that is rated for Children.

Everything has it's time and place and especially staff or moderators shouldn't be using language or phrasing that isn't appropriate for a 12 year old and let's be realistic- younger than that. We've never been a community against LGBT and we've had many prominent staff members have been a part of that movement and community in their real lives outside of the game, and we have had LGBT themed items in the game in the past, maybe not directly but certainly indirectly (colour patterns, themes made by people invested and involved in LGBT)

    3. Bullying.

Bullying is painful, it's not nice.

It saddens me to hear about staff abuse or manipulation. It's very concerning to hear that there are people and especially moderators that are allegedly using exclusion and bullying tactics against other people in our community (the steam group). Ideally we have a zero-tolerance stance towards this type of behaviour although it's hard to practice this when it's outside of official channels or outside of official field of vision. I implore you to contact a member of staff if you are being bullied by anyone in the community- especially staff members.
I do understand how intimidating it can be if a member of staff is included in bullying and it's something we take very seriously

If you feel like you aren't being heard or your problems aren't going away or getting answered feel free to message me on the forums directly. Remember to take screenshots using your phone or record any unnecessary or inappropriate behaviour.

Truly agree with Vendhin, Staff are NOT above players. Have you ever seen a game that players get bullied by staffs?
