Gangs can only hold home bases because they're in an alliance. Gangs are only in alliances because it's mutually beneficial if it means darkside/ obsidian EG can hold their own home base, and not worry about each other ever attacking them, so they can both effectively earn hours at their respective home bases without the prospect of having to have a tug of war fight every hour against eachother fighting for 1 base.

As gangs that pose any threat in the basing scene are the minority, it means that at most a gang with a home base will just be fighting solo pkers, or the occasional new gang of a handful of recently recruited members, that if they happen to even take the base, will just be swarmed by that original home base gang when they briefly call on their allies to retake and hold till it dies down, to which everybody would leave, and go back to 3-4 members sitting in the base with no attackers
